Be cool like me. Wear Threadless.

June 16, 2010

in this i believe

Today, I am sharing with you the secret to my coolness.

You know those older people who love to wear edgy t-shirts to prove to themselves that they are still hip, young at heart, and they can still get jiggy with it? (Irony intended)

Me! Me! Me!

A Cute Invasion Be cool like me. Wear Threadless.

.

I have amassed a small collection of Threadless t-shirts for the above purpose. And today, my dear Soren Lorensen, I think, you are ready to be indoctrinated into The Cult of Threadless Ts.

.

PeliCAN Be cool like me. Wear Threadless.

PeliCAN!

.

Threadless will donate all proceeds from the sale of the peliCAN tee to the Gulf Restoration Network: United for a Healthy Gulf:

“A 15 year old environmental non-profit organization committed to uniting and empowering people to protect and restore the natural resources of the Gulf Region for future generations. They’re the only environmental organization working Gulf-wide, and since the first days of BP’s oil drilling disaster, they’ve provided independent monitoring and advocacy focused on holding BP accountable and ensuring an effective and transparent response to the crisis.”

Why not simply donate the $10 towards the Gulf Restoration Network, or any other charity organization making an impact in the gulf region? I asked myself this too. First of all, Threadless is donating ALL SALES PROCEEDS, not just net revenue, i.e. profit. And, please suppress your inner cynic for a moment, I know how hard it is since I am the biggest gullible cynic I know, by more people wearing the t-shirts, more people outside of the Gulf Region who otherwise would have stopped thinking about this quickly (“Out of sight, out of mind”) will not be able to forget or ignore as easily this disaster that is still going on, and will go on for many many years to come.

peliCAN from Threadless Be cool like me. Wear Threadless.

Besides, it IS a very nice looking shirt!

.

I am also thinking that in order to encourage more people to order the peliCAN tees, we should have a contest of some sort. Wet t-shirts contest?? That may be too self-serving since I cannot wait to see all you sexy people sending me photos of you wearing this tee, drenching wet. *Fans self*

I unfortunately cannot wear t-shirts. Anything without some sort of scoop or v-neck ends up — paradoxically — making me look even more enormously busty than I already am.

A wet t-shirt picture of me could kill you dead.

Can we pause for a moment, though, and discuss Obama’s saying how we are going to clean things up and everything will eventually get healthy and working again? Because, this is the thing bothering me the most, when it comes to anyone and everyone discussing this mess. Things are NOT going to get better. If we spend the next decade constantly doing our best to clean things up, then maybe — _maybe — in 100 years, or 200, there will be some semblence of working ecosystem again. But shorter-term than that? Nope. No way. This is it. We have destroyed an entire ecosystem irreparably — at least in terms of anything we will see in our lifetimes, or the next generation or two (or more). Could someone please stand up and clarify this for the general public, because I don’t think anyone really _gets_ this, and it’s making me crazy.

I am willing to take the risk, m’lady. ;-)

Yup. What you said. But, I will confess, it’s too depressing to think about it, so we grasp at whatever little hope there is, like this tshirt thing…

Speaking of t-shirt… You tease!!! ;-)

Great idea!! I’m so in! And I feel an addiction coming on after checking the Threadless website, dammit. But, yeah, if I took a pic of me in a wet t, it would have to be a full body pic so you could get the effect of my jugs hanging out by my ankles.

And Miss B — it is maddening, isn’t it? It’s DONE and cannot be undone. That’s how it is and it makes me crazy. :(

Dear, I didn’t mean to make you feel bad. We all do what we can. I think the most important thing is that we don’t let ppl around us forget about this and that we vote for the right things to be done/undone at the upcoming election!!

I agree with your first commenter regarding irreparable damage. We have no idea how long or even IF it can ever be okay again. Why don’t the news people say it like it really is?

Yup. Here’s my take: the news outlet needs to sell, and depressing and hopeless news does not sell. I heard that Rachel Maddow did an excellent job last night and I can’t wait to be able to check it out!

I’ve had to request reorder of the women’s shirt…they’ve already sold out of those! A guy’s Medium might work. Anyway, I’m on it, sugar, and thanks so much for the link! Facebooked it, too. You can’t beat 100%. Let’s send a guy’s shirt to Tony Hayward c/o BP. Maybe lots of them.

Must google the threadless concept. Great way to take action on this matter. As per ususal, I just feel helpless to improve things amidst so much apathy and disregard for the shell of a planet we leave for future generations. If you promise my body will resemble yours in the pic, I will order a dozen. I, like Miss B require a V or Scoop Neck. If I were financially able or magnanamous, I would support the cause by forcing them on friends as “gifts”.
