Tony Awards.
As a quote unquote Theatre Person (Notice how I spell Theatre the “wrong” way? Yeah, that’s the sign I AM a theatre person) who nevertheless has been living so far away from the epicenter of theatrical creativity aka NYC, I always find Tony Awards a bitter sweet event. Wishing does not bring about peace. Let me just put it this way. Still, once in a year, I bask in the glory, vicariously through television broadcast and now more than ever YouTube, of the community of thespians.
I will shut up now so you could watch the opening performance at the Tony Awards last night. NPH. “Broadway: It’s not just for gays anymore!” FUCK YEAH AWESOME!
Tru dat! And while we are at it, shouldn’t somebody go and sign him up to host the next Oscar now too?! Oh, what am I saying? Just sign him up for everything already!
p.s. I have to thank Brahm for posting this video first!
Poor Brooke Shields. But otherwise, fantastic.
Wake up, Oscars.
NPH has been perfect on SNL, and in all his latest cameos.
He kills it. Like a boss.
I spell theater with the er at the end. I am also a quote unquote theater person. I am alwasy inspired and then depressed by the Tonys. NPH did kill though.
This was so much fun to watch again. I love NPH and thought he was superb! I too, love the theatre but only get to NY to see about one show a year 🙁
The Tony’s are always great to watch so I can pick out what show I want to see next. There are an awful lot of fantastic looking shows this year I am going to have a hard time picking which one to see.
NPH is a pretty awesome dude…not that I know him in the real world but still!
That was stupendously good! I missed it live, so thanks so much for giving me a shot at it. I could not be more pleased that a number like that can be performed and broadcast today; it gives me some hope in this wacky, polarized period.
I heart him so hard.
NPH for prez!
I adore him! Complete adoration.
I will fight you for NPH. Hopefully we don’t have to duel to the death or anything creepy like that. Maybe something easy like jello wrestling instead? Point is: HE’S MINE.
We don’t watch television at all. But I am so glad to see this video. Hubby and I enjoyed it so much we watched this two times. Great job.
Good God–I’m so far from the epicenter, I forgot to watch the Tony Awards–must have lived in Haiti so long that even coming home to the US doesn’t help me get back in the swing of all things theater.
Kathy
Fun post! So glad you liked it. He is awesome…
Thanks for this! Hubby and I laughed the whole way through. 🙂
I really like him : )
