WTF Wednesday vs. The Silverlining Man

As predicted, the midterm election results painted the map red.

.

Bloody hell!

.

Yes, yes, we got bagged. It’s 5:30 am, and I haven’t slept. I have not packed for my trip overseas, nor have I finished getting the house ready for my absence. At a time like this, we need…

The Silverlining Man!

He will deliver a different, better, more comforting perspective so we can move on…

The Silverlining Man: At least none of the Trifecta of Teabagging Crazy was elected last night.

Sharron “I look like an Asian” Angle.

Christine “Masturbation = Adultery” O’Donnell

Carl “LOL Photoshop is awesome” “Imma gonna run on this anti-gay ticket because it seems promising” Paladino

All out. For now.

Do you feel better now? Good.

Thank you, Silverlining Man!

But wait. What is it Speedhag my trusted Invisible Unicorn?

.

.

Seriously. WTF? People?

Honestly been close to vomiting since the day before the election.
    What *is* wrong with people?
And what is wrong with the progressives that we can’t get the crazies to see/understand/hear? How are they able to frame the debate time and again? Is there no competence amongst the human? Why the superior messaging from the heartless?

Because we are trying to be reasonable. To take in all opinions so as to make learned judgement. If you haven’t, do read this http://blog.japhygrant.com/2010/08/18/america-needs-a-war-on-stupid/

“The reason for this is cowardice. Our society has come to believe that any viewpoint is a legitimate viewpoint, so long as there’s someone out there to espouse it. While this might make for good jokes on The Colbert Report, it’s actually a greater threat to America than terrorism or drugs or any of the other causes we have decided to ‘declare war’ on. Which is why I am suggesting that America ought to collectively declare war on stupidity. If we are to wage an ideological battle against a concept, let it be against Stupidity.”

      Awesome!

For the first time, the elections made me cry. I don’t know what’s going to happen now but I’m still reeling from the wave of idiocy that’s ravaging the country. It’s making me sick. And ILLINOIS???!!! W. T. F.

Great, I think I’m going to cry again.

I’m conflicted. On one hand, I’m so very proud of my little blue state, Massachusetts, for stemming the red tide. On the other hand, I have a crush on a girl in Canada, and I was sort of secretly hoping the election would give me a good reason to flee across the border. Win some, lose some?

I like the “psychotic foaming” tag you used! Tuesday was a tough day in Ohio. ODP was touted as having the best GOTV operation in the country, only to lose all the statewide races. Heads need to roll, if you ask me. I don’t get it, I just don’t get it. All the people who want to “stop forced health care” need to turn in their Medicare cards. This is nonsense!

The problem is most of these people do not have the intellect to understand the irony of it…

I became an independent because I lost faith in our parties. When it became more important to catch the other side in something embarrassing than to fix our problems I decided that I had had enough.

I am tired of commercials that have no substance to them and no purpose other than to sling mud.I am tired of listening to people blame someone else for what is happening. The challenges we face aren’t because of Republicans or Democrats- they are because of Americans.

That is not meant as a rah-rah speech, it is reality. I just want them to STFU and go to work. It is bad enough that they spend the last two years of their terms campaigning for the next one. Just STFU, roll up your sleeves and start working.

I am actually quote disconcerted by the candidate they found to run for the IL senate race. I cannot believe that they can’t find someone better. He just seemed to be such an easy target, and difficult for the suburbanites to relate to.

Okay, here’s where the Bell Curve stops being a dirty word: 50% of the people fall to the left of median for IQ. That’s 50% with IQ’s under 100. As far as I’m concerned, that’s about all we need to know on those squirrelly numbers for Angle, Paladino, and O’Donnell. Might not be PC enough for some people, but that’s just how I roll.

Oh You are just the best recap of the day! Don’t know what happened here but like you said there are some wins….although the closeness of the wins is indeed alarming.

You think Illinois got bagged, you should see Florida. My only reprieve last night ( or this morning) Sharon Angle, and Christine O’Donnell got defeated and Meg Whitman.
4:00 a.m. this morning, I was checking my iphone because the Florida governor’s race had not been called. At around 10:00 a.m. Florida became the proud owner of a crook for governor. He spent 75 million of his own $$ for a $130,000 a year job-I am stopping here. If not, I won’t be able to shut-up.

While listening to a local radio show covering the election results, someone called in to say we (Californians) were always good at “magical thinking.” Call it magical, call it wishful. I call it sensible. What red people don’t understand, is that no matter who is “in charge,” changing up the teams in Congress will never solve anything. I think this is just going to make it harder for Obama to get anything at all passed. Starting a new administration is sort of like taking a new medication. It takes several months for that medication to reach maximum effectiveness. Two years us NOT enough time to make noticeable changes.

The American people have short term memory loss and too much repressed anger over things that really have nothing to do with politics.
I’m seriously thinking of opening a big crack den of inequity to give them something to rally in hatred around.
Here in Washington we are a little bit jaded about his stuff because we watch the cycle from the inside.
Economy goes up, economy goes down. Republicans swept into White House, Dems take the House or Senate in retaliation. Republicans voted out of White House, Dems voted in. Republicans take the House or Senate in retaliation.
    Lather, rinse, repeat.

“A big crack den of inequity” sounds lovely, surely you’d need a Chinese woman dressed up as Dragon Lady for your den? 😉

In an upscale Chicago suburbs, there is already a protest against a Hooter’s like restaurant. It is simply too easy.
