Or you can watch her in action.
Or you can read her words in plain text:
There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody. You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear: you moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for; you hired workers the rest of us paid to educate; you were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory, and hire someone to protect against this, because of the work the rest of us did. Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea? God bless. Keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along.
That is such a fabulous quote – I’d never heard of her before but now I kind of love her!

Hi, thank you so much for visiting and commenting! Yes, and she is running for Senate in MA against Scott Brown!
You are absolutely correct. Facts say that, one of every ten millionaires in US have made it big because of their great networking skills. No matter how great the idea is, support is always vital.

It’s really true. I also believe that there is no truly ethical way to get rich – it always involves taking advantage of others.

i sent her a few bucks the other day when i saw this. it’s so fabulous.
I love that woman! It was so refreshing to see someone who was beholden to no one except the American people. The hatchet job the Republicans tried to do on her was appalling.
Oh, to usher Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin out of the spotlight in favor of the wisdom and intelligence of people like Elizabeth Warren and Jennifer Granholm.

I can’t agree with her more. About a year ago, my husband read a book about a family starting a company in India. The things we take for granted! Like roads. And electricity. Police. Can you imagine the effort, the hurtles, the nightmares of starting a business if you had to create the infrastructure to sustain your company? Taxes are the grease that make our ‘free’ market work.
Sadly, I know too many knee jerk (jerk jerk?) folks who don’t see the value in paying back. But, I earned this! Well. Yes. Now, pay for every road you used and all the pipes and electric lines and the police patrols and the roads that brought your employees and customers. And…

I’m pretty excited she decided to run for Senate here in MA! What a breath of fresh air. And no fake pickup and barn coat.
